* MANY * (but not all) units can be re-programmed. If you bought hardware offshore (or if someone sold you a unit they just "flipped" from THEIR off-shore source for a quick profit), it probably wasn't EVER programmed properly for use in North America! Most hardware is factory-programmed for very basic generic international use - sort of one basic flavor for everywhere - but with a lot of extra added value for Asian users. Although it may just limp along in North America, it was developed to really "fly" on the other side of the Pacific. That's why you'll find foreign-language games and other junk on your hardware, wasting valuable space.
The fact is, lots of hardware works great in the far east and the orient, but needs significant changes to really work well here. Content from there doesn't make it here, and software optimized for there needs to be optimized for here). Even American content may not play here.
Things may have changed a lot since you got your hardware. The factory probably programmed it months before you bought it. Unless your hardware changed itself or YOU re-programmed it, it may be only half-working ... or not working at all. What ? You didn't know you should expect that changes may be needed to upgrade or optimize older hardware? Well, now you know. Better late than never!
The first thing is to determine whether we can re-program, update, or upgrade your hardware to get it working properly again.
*like cars or computers, there is quality and there is junk. We'll do the very best we can with the hardware you have, but make no guarantees that YOUR TV Box can be properly re-programmed.
If your unit has never really performed to your satisfaction, perhaps you were told, or led to believe, or simply misunderstood that it was already programmed, worked wirelessly out of the box, and it was just "plug and play"? Perhaps you've just learned that it's more like "plug & pray".
Or perhaps it was never installed properly.What ? No one came to set it up for you? You had to set it up yourself? Well not everybody is a techie, nor should they be. You do your day job, and leave the technical stuff to the techies. Just like you leave your car repairs to your car dealership. We're the "techies". We'll sort things out for you.
What we'll do for you.
We'll investigate what's possible to re-program, update, or upgrade on your unique hardware. If we can get it functioning with high reliability, good visual quality, and quality content, we'll proceed to do so, automatically. You should expect that will happen as the default. After all, that's why you'll send it to us! We make sure we're proud of what you get back from us.
If your hardware is too old, too weak, or too small to run what's acceptable today, we'll notify you and ask YOU to decide. We'll return the unit if you decide to not go further, and reduce our charge to a minimum. If you decide to update it anyway, we will do so. Maybe the unit is already running up-to-date programming, and works well at our location. We'll notify you of that. Perhaps the problem is in the connectivity at your location. (We can also go on-site to resolve THAT issue for you but again, YOU'll decide.) There's only a minimal bench charge for our determination. If appropriate, you can book us for the on-site work at your location, as a separate event. We'll book a day and time convenient for YOU and reserve your appointment time for YOUR case only.
After updating, upgrading, or repairing, we make sure that EVERY content source inside your hardware works. This also means that sources that DON'T work any longer won't be wasting limited space. Do you have special topics or subjects you'd like to watch? Perhaps we can add some you weren't aware of. All part of the included work we do.
Do you have an ethnic, genre, or content preference? In many cases, we can adjust your unit to display specialized content for your home. We can't promise "the world", but we aim to please.
Parental Controls? You bet! Unless we hear otherwise from the customer, we make sure that EVERY UNIT WE REPAIR/ RE-PROGRAM HAS THESE CONTROLS INSTALLED, to keep all the content appropriate for family viewing
Privacy Concerns?
Everybody knows Google, and everybody knows that Google knows more about you than your mother. Many people aren't aware that Google was the developer of the Android Operating System (that's the engine that probably runs YOUR TVBox). For some people, that's upsetting. Although we make no guarantees about absolute isolation, we offer an optional enhanced privacy service that will make all the appropriate changes to ensure that your TVBox is as private as possible. This optional extra service needs to be requested before we start work on your hardware. If you don't care about protecting your passwords, or Google keeping tabs on when or what you watch on your TV, then this service probably isn't something you care about. But we thought you should at least be aware of it so you could decide on your own.
Hardware Repairs and Diagnostics
Do you have hardware that behaves like it was possessed? Does it stop working randomly? Does it keep cutting out? Does it keep re-booting, or does the screen freeze or go black? Does it pause so much that watching anything is frustrating? We've seen a lot of strange behaviors and solved a lot of problems. If your hardware is recent, but just won't work reliably, we're happy to work to determine the cause. For a small diagnostic fee that includes an estimate, we'll investigate for you. If you decide not to repair the hardware, we send it back to you. Likewise, if the hardware is not repairable, we send it back to you. If you decide to proceed with the repair, the diagnostic fee is deducted from the repair. Always, you decide whether you want us to repair the unit.
How this all works.
1. Getting YOUR hardware to us is Step One. MAKE SURE YOU LABEL EVERY ITEM YOU SEND TO US, WITH YOUR SURNAME. You can ship the item to us by prepaid mail, and enclose the correct value of stamps (or a prepaid courier waybill or courier payment) inside the package for return shipment. We should be able to place your unit back inside your original packaging, apply your return label and payment, and ship it back using the same method you used to send it. WE DON'T HAVE PICKUP FACILITIES at our drop-off depot, so we'll be shipping it back. We're unable to provide pickup services.
It's VERY important that you enclose "ALL" your hardware. This means the power supply, the unit, the remote control, and the cables. (If you don't include the cables (only), we'll use our own, but we can't rule out a bad cable as the cause of your trouble. If you don't include the power supply, we can't proceed with the diagnostics at all. Yes, we have other power supplies, but they aren't part of your hardware so we can't diagnose "your hardware" - only an isolated part. You don't send your car to the dealership without tires, so please don't send your hardware to us without YOUR power supply!
2. You can also send your hardware to us prepaid by courier, or you can drop it off at our depot on your own. We use a Parcel Fulfillment Service and they don't generate paperwork for a receipt. If you require a delivery receipt, please bring your own and the drop-off depot will sign for package receipt. That receipt will only show that you dropped off a parcel. We aren't able to verify the contents of the parcel until it's opened on our bench. If you include a packing list INSIDE, we'll contact you directly if we notice anything missing. Each parcel is opened, processed, and re-sealed separately. We haven't lost anything yet, and don't intend to. But as always, you assume all liability for risk of loss.
3. If there is a connector that's about to break, or a connection that's coming apart on your hardware, we'll need your approval to make that repair BEFORE we can start our diagnostics. The good news is that once loose connectors are repaired, we rarely find other faults.

Payment Methods and Types.
We accept PayPal, Interac e-transfers, or prepaid cards from MasterCard Visa / American Express for payment. We don't accept credit cards, cheques, or Purchase Orders. If you're unable to use any of those methods, please email us to discuss alternate arrangements. We'll safely store your unit until we work things out. MAKE SURE YOU CLEARLY LABEL YOUR SURNAME ON YOUR package! We'd like to be able to send it back to you!!
